Remembrance Day commemorated in Ashgabat at the Ashgabat Memorial Complex on Saturday 11 November.
Her Majesty’s Ambassador Thorda Abbott-Watt held a short act of commemoration to mark the Remembrance Day at the Ashgabat Memorial Complex on Saturday 11 November. This is the day on which the United Kingdom traditionally remembers all those who fell in the First and Second World Wars and in subsequent conflicts.
The event is a mark of reconciliation between peoples and nations. This date traditionally marks the anniversary of the Armistice of the First World War which began at 11 o’clock on the 11th day of the 11th month, 1918.
