The British High Commission will be hosting the annual Remembrance Sunday Ceremony at Kranji War Cemetery on Sunday, 9 November 2014. The Ceremony is open to all.

About Remembrance Sunday

On this day, we pay tribute to those who made the supreme sacrifice so that the generations that followed could live in peace. In the UK, Remembrance Sunday is held on the Sunday nearest to 11 November (Remembrance Day). This anniversary marks the end of World War I on 11 November 1918.

The 30-minute ceremony will be attended by the diplomatic corps, military, representatives of the main religious groups and members of the public.

Ceremony Details

Date: Sunday, 9 November 2014

Time: 7.30am (As the ceremony will start promptly, we advise that the public arrive and be seated by 7.00 am.)

Venue: Kranji War Cemetery, 9 Woodlands Road, Singapore 738656

Admission: Free. All are welcome.

Attire: Smart but casual.

Media and Photography:

  • Please note that media and photographers may be present.

  • Members of the public are welcome to take photos but are asked to kindly observe the solemnity of the ceremony.

In case of bad weather:

  • In the event of a thunderstorm (with lightning), the ceremony will be canceled. Update will be posted on Facebook www.facebook.com/UKinSG and Twitter @UKinSingapore

  • Please bring along an umbrella.
