Remembrance Sunday in Denmark, 11 November 2018

We commemorate the centenary of the end of the WWI and remember those who gave their lives in later conflicts. We honour the men and women of the Armed Forces.

An inter-denominational Service of Remembrance

St Alban’s Church, Churchillparken, 1263 Copenhagen K

The service starts at 10.30 am. Due to the limited seating in St Alban’s Church, it is not possible to reserve seats for this service. It is advisable to come early as the church is usually very crowded. A short Act of Remembrance and wreath-laying ceremony will be held at Bispebjerg Kirkegård, Frederiksborgvej 125, 2400 Copenhagen NV, starting at 12.15pm.

Other commemoration Services in Denmark for The Centenary of the Armistice – end of WWI

Viborg Kirkegårdskapellet, Gl. Skivevej, 8800 Viborg

Service commemorating the end of the First World War starting at 10.30am on Sunday, 11 November, after which wreaths will be laid. Following the ceremony there will be a presentation on the “history of the soldiers buried from the First World War” and an exhibition of Lazaret-Lejren ved Hald.

Aalborg - Vor Frelsers Kirke (Our Savior’s Church, Annebergvej 2, 9000 Aalborg)

There will be a service held in co-operation with the Garrison of Aalborg starting at 10.00am on Sunday, 11 November.
