This research will aim to better understand the issues faced by those in fuel poverty and how these issues can be best addressed.
The Committee on Fuel Poverty has commissioned a new research project on understanding the challenges faced by fuel poor households this winter 2022 to 2023. This research will aim to better understand the issues faced by those in fuel poverty and how these issues can be best addressed. The research is being led by London Economics Limited.
The research will provide a valuable up-to-date evidence base for the Committee on the experiences of households at this very challenging time. The research will comprise of 3 work strands:
- Rapid Evidence Assessment (REA): this will look at material relevant to fuel poverty
- online research: gathering real-time evidence on the lived experiences of households in fuel poverty
- workshops: holding a series of workshops with key stakeholders
The research will help inform policy development in government on this important issue. We are seeking to publish the report and findings on the Committee’s pages on GOV.UK in the Spring.
