Response to the UN Security Council statement on humanitarian access in Syria
The Prime Minister and Secretary of State for International Development respond to the adoption of a UNSC Presidential Statement.
Responding to the adoption by the UN Security Council of a Presidential Statement on humanitarian access in Syria, the Prime Minister, David Cameron, said:
I’m delighted the UN has responded to UK-led efforts and called on the Syrian regime to provide easier access for aid workers. This must now be delivered.
The International Development Secretary Justine Greening said:
It is very welcome news that the UN Security Council has agreed on the need for unhindered access to all those needing humanitarian support in Syria.
It is vital that aid can get through as quickly as possible to those who need it most.
