Resurfacing and safety improvements start on A46 at Sedgeberrow, Worcestershire
The Highways Agency is to carry out overnight resurfacing and safety improvements on the A46 at Sedgeberrow, near Evesham, Worcestershire, from Thursday 4 December.
The work will take approximately three weeks and requires a full closure of the A46 Cheltenham Road between the Teddington Hands and Cheltenham Road roundabouts from 9pm to 6am each night.
Highways Agency project manager Deborah Makinde said:
Following a number of incidents on this section of the A46 we will install double white lines and hatch markings to improve safety. Any white lines or studs removed for resurfacing will be reinstated afterwards.
To carry out this important work safely and efficiently we need to close the road overnight. Road users should therefore allow extra time for their journeys and familiarise themselves with the diversion before setting off.
During the closures traffic will be diverted via the B4077, the B4632 and the A44, or vice versa.
All eight laybys along the seven-mile section of the A46 will be closed 24 hours a day and access restrictions will be in place on seven side roads.
