Resurfacing starts next week on A34 near Didcot, Oxfordshire
Resurfacing will start next Wednesday (16 July) to resurface a section of the A34 near Didcot in Oxfordshire to improve journeys.
A 1 mile section of the road will be resurfaced to provide drivers with smoother, safer and quieter journeys. The work is part of the largest investment in roads infrastructure in decades and will involve overnight closures of the A34, in one direction at a time. It is due to be completed in the morning of Wednesday 30 July.
Highways Agency Project Sponsor Guy Watts said:
We will be resurfacing a section of the A34 to provide drivers with smoother, safer and quieter journeys on this vital road. We have carefully planned the work to minimise disruption and will carry out the work overnight, when we know traffic flows are lowest.
The work will be carried out overnight, between 10pm and 6am, Monday to Friday.
The A34 will be closed between the Milton and Chilton interchanges northbound for five nights from Wednesday 16 July and southbound for five nights from Wednesday 23 July.
Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place via the A4185 and A4130.
