Road to 2012: Setting Out
Striking new photographic portraits of athletes, politicians and engineers unveiled at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
The National Portrait Gallery/BT Road to 2012 Project celebrates the two-year countdown to the Olympic and Paralympic Games and shows a new side to Britain’s medal hopefuls and key figures behind London 2012.
The exhibition is part of the Cultural Olympiad and a total of 100 portraits will be displayed over the next two years. The first 30 portraits include those involved in winning the bid and the delivery stage, as well as top young athletes.
Work by Brian Griffin and Bettina von Zwehl features in the exhibition which runs until summer 2012.
