Road users advised of resurfacing work of A46 Evesham Bypass
The Highways Agency is to resurface the A46 Cheltenham Road between Ashton and Evesham, also known as the Evesham Bypass, from Friday 4 April.
The road will be closed in both directions for ten nights until 16 April from just south of Hinton Cross to the A44/A435 roundabout.
Other work includes installing new road markings and signage at laybys, footpath widening, and installing reflective road studs. Road markings will also be provided at the new access to Evesham United Football Club.
Highways Agency project manager Purnima Kaul said:
“In order to carry out this work safely and in the quickest possible time we need to close the road but this will only be done at night when traffic flows are lightest.”
The closures take place from 8pm to 7am Monday to Friday nights and 8pm to 9am on Saturday nights.
During the closures traffic will be diverted along the A44 eastbound towards Broadway, the B4362 and B4077 to rejoin the A46 at the Teddington Hands Roundabout, or vice versa.
A separate diversion will be in place for high vehicles over 13’ 6”. This will be clearly signed.
