UK Export Finance has appointed Edward Prince as its Director of Large Corporates & International.

Senior Rolls-Royce plc executive Edward Prince has been appointed as Director of Large Corporates & International at UK Export Finance (UKEF).

With a £60 billion remit, UKEF is a ministerial government department operating as the nation’s export credit agency. Its mission is to ensure no viable export fails from a lack of finance or insurance, doing so sustainably and at no net cost to the taxpayer.

Mr Prince, who joins UKEF in the new year, will oversee the directorate responsible for issuing and underwriting the department’s suite of financial products developed to support British exporters of all sizes, so that they can increase their orderbooks and grow.

Edward’s remit includes the department’s network of 23 overseas Country Heads too, who are based in countries around the world to seek out new trade opportunities for exporters. The appointment also sees him take up the role of Co-Head of Business Group to help drive through ambitious targets set as part of the department’s new 2024-2029 Business Plan.

UKEF CEO Tim Reid, said:

I’m thrilled to welcome Edward to UKEF, where he will play an important role in helping us deliver our business plan and drive growth across the UK. With the support of our team, UKEF continues working to create positive impact by unlocking major investments, backing the energy transition and supporting new trading opportunities with developing markets.

At Rolls-Royce plc, Edward held a number of senior roles during his tenure, including Director - Corporate Finance, Group Treasurer and more recently as the Managing Director and Group Head of Corporate Finance.

Prior to this, Edward also worked with leading banks, such as DBS Bank, Barclays and Goldman Sachs.

Edward Prince added:

I’m delighted to be appointed Co-Head of the Business Group and Director for Large Corporates & International at UK Export Finance. I’m excited to build on the vital role that UKEF plays in helping UK businesses trade internationally, ensuring our world-leading exporters get access to finance, fulfil orders and get paid.

I’m particularly excited to be ensuring that UKEF’s presence and impact is felt globally, working with experts across government in supporting the drive to net zero as we deliver UKEF’s ambitious Business Plan.
