Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Wave Knight in Havana
The Royal Navy Ship is visiting Havana from 13 to 18 December with a focus on disaster preparedness in the Caribbean.
Senior Cuban officials and other disaster-related institutions will be hosting a series of meetings with the crew to exchange views and experiences on disaster-relief rescue and counternarcotics.
The ship’s program also includes a wreath laying ceremony at the Colon Cemetery’s Commonwealth War Grave.
British Ambassador to Havana, Tim Cole, commented on the visit.
” This is an excellent opportunity for the UK to share our expertise and views with the Cuban government on crisis preparedness and crisis response. With large numbers of British tourists coming to Cuba every year, these issues are of crucial importance to both countries.”
