Second Eco-Festival in Ashgabat
The British Embassy Ashgabat and the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiýe in Turkmenistan organise second Eco-Festival .
On Sunday, 15 October, hundreds of likeminded people gathered at the joint Turkmen-Turkish school to take part in the Second Climate and Eco-Festival organised by the British Embassy and the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiýe in Turkmenistan, and with the support of eco-blogger Gulnara Tayjanova, young climate activists and more than 80 volunteers.
The festival was a phenomenal platform for people who are eager to take part in tackling climate change and discover new ways of doing things more sustainably. It was an opportunity to be inspired, learn, network and see how we can create positive, social environmental change by consuming products and services differently across Turkmenistan.
The festival included a range of interesting activities including live entertainment, eco-friendly workshops for children, solar panels display, music, dancing, guest speakers and presentations. There was also a photo exhibition and film screenings – all to help more people learn and motivate them to act in combating climate change.
