Energy and Climate Change Secretary Edward Davey will this week highlight the massive benefit for jobs and business the energy sector can bring to the Scottish economy as he visits Shetland, Orkney, Caithness, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Energy and Climate Change Secretary Edward Davey said:
“Scotland has some of the most promising energy resources in Europe which means it can be a driving force to a secure energy future for the UK, supporting growth and jobs.
“There is great potential for Scottish wind and marine renewables. I’m looking forward to seeing Viking Renewables in Shetland, and visiting Scotrenewables Marine Tidal Ltd and the European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney.
“I’m also keen to work with the Scottish Government, drawing together industry, the regulator and others. This is an opportunity to roll up our sleeves and work together to ensure we have cheaper, cleaner, reliable energy.”
