Sir Brendan Barber's term as Chair of Acas extended by 6 months

Sir Brendan Barber will remain as Chair of the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service until 1 July.

The Secretary of State for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has extended the term of Sir Brendan Barber as Chair of the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service for up to 6 months.

Sir Brendan’s term was extended on 1 January 2020 until 1 July 2020. He has been in post since 1 January 2014.

Acas is an independent public body which offers conciliation services between businesses and employees and provides best practice advice on all aspects of workplace relations.

This appointment is regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
