Smoother journeys for drivers on the M2 near Faversham in Kent
Overnight resurfacing work will start on Monday (3 March) on the M2, between junctions 6 and 7, near Faversham resulting in smoother journeys for road users.
The work will involve overnight carriageway closures of the M2 and is due to be completed, weather permitting, on the morning of Monday 31 March.
Anita Waterton, Highways Agency Project Sponsor said:
The M2, between junctions 6 and 7, will be completely resurfaced to provide drivers with improved journeys on this key route between Kent and London.
To minimise the disruption we have planned the work to be carried out overnight, when traffic flows are at their lowest. I would advise drivers to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time for the diversions.
The carriageway closures will take place overnight, between 9pm and 6am, between Monday 3 and Sunday 16 March on the Londonbound carriageway and Monday 17 and Sunday 30 March on the coastbound carriageway. There will be fully signed diversions via the A251 and A2.
