We strongly condemned the bombing in Dair on 18 August and are deeply saddened to learn that one of the policeman injured, Muhammad Amir Abdulkhaliq, has since succumbed to his injuries. We offer our sincere condolences to his family and friends.

There is no excuse for acts of violence. We urge all political, human rights and community leaders to speak out against violence unequivocally.

The only way to promote peace and stability in Bahrain is through a constructive and inclusive dialogue that addresses the legitimate aspirations of all Bahrainis. It is imperative to build the trust and confidence necessary for reconciliation. In this regard, we continue to monitor developments closely.
