Statement on provisional agreement on the text of a National Ceasefire Accord

The British Embassy welcomes the announcement that the Government and Nationwide Ceasefire Coordination Team negotiators have reached provisional agreement on the text of a National Ceasefire Accord.

Although there are many challenges still to overcome, this is an important shared step and reflects the tireless efforts of all participants in the process so far. We hope to welcome the signing of the National Ceasefire Accord in the coming weeks, and to see the start of work on a Joint Framework for Political Dialogue.
