Stephen Crabb MP re-appointed Secretary of State for Wales
Stephen Crabb: "I will be a strong voice at the Cabinet table and continue notching up wins for Wales."
Stephen Crabb was today (11 May) re-appointed as Secretary of State for Wales and immediately promised to use his influence in Cabinet to notch up more wins for Wales.
Speaking after a meeting with the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street, Stephen Crabb said:
The extraordinary results we saw unfold in the early hours of Friday morning reinforce what I have been hearing on doorsteps throughout Wales. People are starting to feel the benefits of the economic recovery.
Over the past five years we have shown that we can create the conditions for economic growth and put Wales on the map by bringing major global events to our country. We now have a fantastic opportunity to shape the future and make Wales an even better place for people to live and work.
People have shown that they share my vision of Wales as an ambitious nation built on solid economic foundations. Our job now is to renew a sense of fairness in our society, make sure the economic recovery reaches all parts of Wales and strengthen our United Kingdom.
I am privileged to be able to play my part by being a strong voice at the Cabinet table and continue notching up wins for Wales.
