Take part in the GREAT British Catalogue Show in Saudi Arabia
UKTI is touring Saudi Arabia this autumn, introducing British businesses to opportunities available in Madinah, Yanbu, Makkah and Jeddah.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Jeddah in partnership with the British Council and Visit Britain is putting together a GREAT British Catalogue Show to promote British companies in Western Saudi Arabia. The catalogue show will showcase British excellence and promote the UK as the best partner for business, study or leisure. It will serve to introduce UK companies to new markets, customers, distributors and agents.
In collaboration with Chambers of Commerce in the Western Region, the following sectors have been identified as priorities:
- education and vocational training
- food and drink
- healthcare
- leisure and tourism
- municipal services
- project management
- engineering
- design
Saudi Arabia is the UK’s largest trading partner in the Middle East. There is Government commitment to grow the Saudi economy, the 2013 budget allocated:
- £34bn for education and training
- £16bn for healthcare
- £6bn for municipalities
There is also an anticipated requirement for 50,000 more hotel rooms and 74,000 furnished apartments by 2020 to handle the growth in religious tourism.
Events and activities
The cities of Madinah, Yanbu and Makkah will host a range of events and activities to promote British business, including:
- catalogue Shows at each Chamber of Commerce
- English Language taster workshops
- seminars at university faculties
- British themed dinners for dignitaries and prominent businessmen
- visit Britain events
UKTI is working closely with the cities’ Municipalities and Chambers of Commerce to host and promote the catalogue shows and have invited the Mayors or Governors of each city to open the events.
How to participate
Catalogue shows are a low-cost, low-risk route into the fast growing Saudi market. For just £200 + VAT per company, UKTI will:
- Display catalogues in each city
- Register and collate contact details of interested Saudi parties
- Forward on all media coverage and photos of the events
