During the meetings, consular staff explained the key elements of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s (FCO) 2016-2020 Consular Services Strategy, entitled “Helping British People Overseas”. Key messages included strategies for preventing problems affecting British nationals in Uganda, before they arise, and the importance of taking personal responsibility. Those attending took the opportunity to ask the consular team questions about a wide selection of issues, ranging from immigration policy to emergency travel documents.
