Talke junction work completed early by Highways England

Boost to road users as the final phase of work to Talke junction is completed four weeks earlier than planned.

Highways England has delivered a boost to road users in Stoke-on-Trent by completing the second and final phase of its Talke junction work some four weeks earlier than planned.

Repair work at the A34/A500 Talke Junction will mean safer journeys for people travelling in Stoke after Highways England completed vital safety repairs to the bridge ahead of schedule.

Highways England project manager, Arasu Gurasamy said:

As we deliver record Government investment in roads, we have worked hard to get this vital maintenance scheme completed as quickly as possible. We’d like to thank motorists in Stoke for their patience while the work took place.

The first phase was completed two weeks ahead of schedule before Christmas. The road will be fully open to traffic from tomorrow (Thursday) morning.
