The 3rd Baghdad Security, Defence and Aviation Show took place from 1-4 March. A number of UK defence and security companies exhibited at the event and were supported by a team from the UKTI and Defence sections of the British Embassy.
UK companies displayed a range of equipment and capabilities aimed at helping the Iraqi Government to combat terrorism and build stability in the region. The Iraqi Minister of Defence opened the exhibition by thanking those present for their support to Iraq and welcomed continued cooperation in the future.
HMA Simon Collis attended the event and met with those UK companies seeking to provide equipment and training to the Iraqi security forces. The British Embassy also hosted a reception with BAE Systems on the third day of the show, which brought together senior Iraqi officials and members of the Iraqi and international armed forces.
