The annual Albanian Infantry Exercise Biza 15
The 1 Welsh Guards STTT has been deployed at the Albanian Armed Forces annual Infantry Exercise Biza-15
The 1 Welsh Guards STTT (Short Term Training Team) has been deployed for one week, at the Albanian Armed Forces annual Infantry Exercise Biza-15. The annual Infantry Exercise Biza 15 aims at the standardisation and unification of the operational procedures as based on NATO’s exercise concepts. The 1WG STT team met with Albanian Defence Minister, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, who received a gift from the Welsh Guard STTT – a T-Shirt symbol of the first 100 Anniversary of the Regiment.
Exercise Biza is a regular annual training. According to the “Army” Albanian newspaper, last year this event had a significant change regarding it’s conducted exercises, which was essential due to the fact that the main objective of that exercise was the certification of the Second Battalion of Infantry under NATO’s CREVAL system (Combat Readiness Evaluation), the first exercise in the past 24 years in Albania, during which a unit was certified at the battalion level. Exercise “Biza 14” exceeded the expectations of everyone. The battalion was rated as “Combat Ready” from the Armed Forces Assessment Group of the Republic of Albania.
