This was published under the 2016 to 2019 May Conservative government
Ambassador Chris Campbell, Deputy Head of Mission Matthew Webb and Director of International Trade Leonora Dipp.

Scotch whisky is the main product exported from the United Kingdom to the Dominican Republic. To promote the different premium brands that are available in this market, the team at the British Embassy in Santo Domingo organised “The Best of Scotch Whisky III”. The event took place at the Garden Tent of the Hotel El Embajador on 3 May.

Ambassador Chris Campbell gave a speech about the importance of whisky for the commercial relationship between the two countries.

The event was sponsored by scotch whisky importers such as:

  • Alvárez & Sánchez
  • Bacardi Dominicana
  • Brugal
  • Diageo
  • Manuel González Cuesta
  • Pernod Ricard
  • United Brands

Thanks to the sponsorship, the Embassy was able to offer a distinguished guest list the opportunity to taste famous scotch whiskies. It also provided an audiovisual experience, helping attendees deepen their knowledge on the different regions of Scotland where the whisky is made, the ingredients used, and other interesting facts about the product. Scotland’s places of historical interest and natural beauty were highlighted.
