The British Embassy in Quito donated rugby balls to the Ministry of Sport’s summer schools
The Deputy Head of Mission, Tina Hamilton, donated rugby balls – which can’t be purchased in Ecuador – to the Ministry’s summer schools
On Monday July 22nd, during the opening ceremony of the Ministry of Sport’s summer school, the British Embassy’s Deputy Head of Mission, Tina Hamilton, donated rugby balls to be used in the summer schools. The balls were provided by the Rugby Football Union in England. Rugby balls cannot be purchased in Ecuador.
The balls were received by the Minister of Sport, José Francisco Cevallos, who expressed his gratitude at the donation. The Ministry and the Embassy will continue to work together to promote the sport of rugby in Ecuador. The summer school is open to children and youngsters between 6 and 16 years old, and it is free for all.
Rugby is one of the most popular sports in the United Kingdom. In Ecuador, it is a growing discipline, with various regional clubs and players.
