The NHS Savile investigations

16 NHS investigation reports have been published, 15 into the activities of Jimmy Savile, and 1 in relation to Johnny Savile.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Four of these investigations relate to allegations received by the Trusts prior to June 2014, including at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The remaining 12 investigations relate to allegations made after that point and were overseen by the Savile Legacy Unit.

44 reports have been published in total

  • 26 June 2014: 28 reports published, including 27 NHS hospital trusts and 1 hospice. 2 main reports into Leeds and Broadmoor
  • 26 February: 16 reports published, these included the 4 outstanding investigations from the summer and 12 new investigations, since 1 July 2014. Includes the main report from Stoke Mandeville

There were 41 hospitals (including 5 secure or mental health hospitals and 2 children’s hospitals.) In addition investigations have happened at a children’s convalescent home, an ambulance service and a hospice.
