The Philanthropic Challenge

Government will detail plans to boost arts philanthropy before end of this year.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Addressing an audience of philanthropists, private companies and charity fundraisers yesterday, Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt set out the government’s plans to increase the amount of private giving to support the country’s arts sector.

“A mixed model of funding gives arts organisations long-term financial security and sustainability,”said Mr Hunt.

“The government wants to combine ongoing public support for the arts while at the same time boosting private giving.  We will set out our detailed plans to boost arts philanthropy before end of this year.”

Cause4 supports charities and social enterprises in fundraising across the community, arts, sports and education sectors.
