On June 14, the British Embassy in Yerevan celebrated the Official Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. HM Ambassador Judith Farnworth and the British Embassy team were honoured to host the President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian and Mrs Sarkissian at the Ambassador’s Residence. President Sarkissian congratulated Ambassador Farnworth and the Embassy team on the day. He wished success, attaching great importance to further development of the Armenian-British cooperation in various areas and reiterating good will to deepen and expand relations between the two nations.

Later that day, the British Embassy hosted guests from the Government of Armenia, the National Assembly, the British community in Armenia, members of the diplomatic corps and friends of the UK at The Queen’s Birthday Party.

As last year, The Salamanca Band and Bugles of The Rifles of the UK Armed Forces performed at the party, this time joined by the excellent Armenian Armed Forces Ensemble. Along with the fantastic jazz music, the guests enjoyed traditional British food and drinks including regional cheeses, fish and chips and scones with cream and jam.
