Trade & Investment minister visits Norway
Lord Ian Livingston visited Norway on 14 and 15 January to meet business leaders and representatives of Norwegian government.
Lord Ian Livingston, Minister of State for Trade and Investment
Lord Livingston was appointed Minister of State for Trade and Investment in December 2013 - working with both the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. His visit to Norway was his first official overseas visit as minister, emphasising Norway’s importance as a long established trade partner for the UK.

During his 2 day visit Lord Livingston met ministers of the Norwegian Department for Trade & Industry and the Ministry of Transport as well as business leaders from many of Norway’s largest companies and key British companies with Norwegian presence.
Lord Livingston, formerly the CEO of BT Group, is working to help Britain compete globally; growing the UK’s exports and attracting investment from overseas. He praised the healthy commercial relationship between the UK and Norway, and spoke of strengthening existing business ties as well as exploring new opportunities. Lord Livingston mentioned in particular the huge potential for medium-sized British firms to increase their business with Norway.
