Treasury communications

Jonathan Black, has been appointed Head of Communications and becomes the Chancellor of the Exchequer's official spokesperson.

Jonathan Black, a senior civil servant in HM Treasury’s Strategy, Planning and Budget Group, has been appointed Head of Communications at HM Treasury and becomes the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s official spokesperson.

Notes for Editors

  1. Jonathan, age 33, has been head of the Treasury’s Budget Strategy and Tax Team for the past three years. He has previously held a range of other posts in HM Treasury, including private secretary to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

  2. He replaces Jean-Christophe Gray. Jean-Christophe will shortly take up a senior civil service post in HM Treasury’s Public Spending Group.
