We are now accepting bids for funding from the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund (CAPF) for projects to be delivered in the 2018-2019 financial year.
We are now accepting bids for funding from the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund (CAPF) for projects to be delivered in the 2018-2019 financial year.
The CAPF is an initiative which supports Chevening alumni activities across the FCO network. Through the projects we fund, we aim to improve the quality, frequency and sustainability of contact between posts and Chevening Alumni, and between alumni themselves, working towards the core strategic objective.
Core strategic objective of the CAPF is:
“To create the most engaged, active and impactful international scholarship alumni network in the world, that contributes to UK foreign policy priorities locally, regionally and globally.”
Eligibility
All scholars and fellows since 1983 who have completed their Chevening award, including alumni who studied through co-funded partnership scholarships (for example Chevening/HSBC or Chevening/OSI) are eligible to apply.
CAPF bidding form and the guidance can be found at the bottom of this page.
If you are planning to draft a bid, please bear in mind that:
-
the strongest bids are usually those that jointly involved alumni and FCO staff working together on them. Therefore if you have an idea, we can discuss how we can work together
-
ideas for regional collaboration are usually looked on favourably, but make sure you have evidence of consulting colleagues from the region to show that the proposal is achievable. As the Chevening Officer in Turkey, I’ll be happy to help if you need my support for such collaboration
-
we would like to remind that this is not a fund to support individual projects, researches or studies. If you’re thinking of drafting a bid please consider how your bid will create a stronger alumni community in your country, region or globally and also raise the profile of the Chevening brand
-
all bids must be submitted by post (British Embassy Ankara), whether created by post or not. Please submit all your bids to Hande.Celikel@fco.gov.uk until 21 January 2018
Your bids will be reviewed by post and only the ones that are in line with the CAPF objectives will be submitted to the secretariat by 31 January 2018.
