Turks & Caicos post-cabinet meeting statement 26 and 28 August 2020
His Excellency the Governor, Nigel Dakin, chaired the 33rd meeting of Cabinet on Wednesday 26 August and Friday 28 August by video conference.
All members were present with the exception of the Honourable Premier.
Cabinet:

the Minister for Health updated cabinet on the current COVID-19 health situation
-
approved the Ministry of Health recommendations for the revised criteria for the discharge of persons from quarantine and isolation following diagnosis of COVID-19, as well as person who are primary contacts of confirmed cases. The revised criteria will be published in the relevant Regulations

approved recommendations by the Ministry of Health for the extension of control measures and additional measures to control COVID-19 across the Turks and Caicos Islands. The recommendations will be published in the relevant Regulations

approved Ministry of Health recommendations regarding amendments to the Turks and Caicos Islands Public and Environmental Health (COVID-19) (Control Measures) Regulations 2020 in order to facilitate COVID-safe State Funerals

noted the progress made in the development of the National Youth Policy 2020 – 2025 by the Ministry of Education, and obtained approval for further public consultation on the draft document before finalisation

approved the renewal of a Phase 1 Wreck and Salvage Licence, under Section 4 of the Protection of Historic Wrecks Regulations, to Jannish Ltd

noted Procurement Board recommendations on the award of a contract, in line with the process under the provisions of the Public Procurement Ordinance, for - SSP, Aviation Equipment – Extensions of the Providenciales Public Announcement (PA) System, Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority

noted an Information Paper on a contract award for the supply and delivery of fresh and frozen rations for Her Majesty’s Prison Grand Turk (TR 19/97)

approved a draft Development Agreement (DA) regarding the South Bank Resort and Marina for execution by parties, Windward Long Bay Ltd, Ougin Ltd, WW Holdings Ltd and the Turks and Caicos Islands Government

approved the recommendation that a Contingency Warrant be issued for the Ministry of Infrastructure in regard to costs relating to accommodation for Cuban doctors and operating costs for quarantine facilities in Providenciales and Grand Turk

approved TCIG follow-up with the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) regarding government intention to participate in PAHO’s COVAX (COVID-19 vaccines and updates) programme
