UK and Brazil deepen bilateral cooperation in trade
Statement on the UK-Brazil Joint Economic Trade Committee
The 8th edition of UK-Brazil Joint Economic Trade Committee (JETCO), that takes place in London on 28 and 29 October, chaired by the British Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Sajid Javid, and the Brazilian Minister for Development, Industry and Trade, Armando Monteiro, aims to reiterate the firm commitment of both countries in expanding bilateral collaboration in strategic areas and in initiatives to support mutual growth in the coming years.
The programme starts with three working groups that cover specific areas of interest of UK and Brazil: Innovation & Intellectual Property, Trade and Creative Industries. After, SoS Sajid Javid and the Minister Armando Monteiro have a bilateral meeting to talk about investment plans and other areas of future cooperation.
The event also includes a lunch meeting with Brazilian and UK businesses and the presence of the Brazilian Finance Minister Joaquim Levy, which is in London for a bilateral with the Chancellor George Osborne, during the Economic and Financial Dialogue.
The UK-Brazil JETCO was established by the UK and Brazilian governments to facilitate bilateral trade and investment and cooperation between private sectors.
