UK and Macedonian Armed Forces share experiences on preparing troops for international operations.

In the period 14 to 16 May, UK and Macedonian Armed Forces had the opportunity to share experiences on activities related to preparing troops for deployment in international operations.

Experiences centered on mental health issues, welfare and support to families of deployed troops, gender and cultural awareness as part of the comprehensive process needed for preparation, sustaining troops on the ground as well as care for them upon returning home.

With the generous support of the UK Armed Forces, British and Macedonian colleagues, legal advisors, psychologists and psychiatrists, discussed and shared lessons learned from experiences in international operations. The activity knits well in the overall British-Macedonian cooperation in the defence area and support to Macedonia’s defence reforms.

The project was supported by the British Embassy Skopje and facilitated by the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia.
