The official negotiations will be opened during a meeting of Her Majesty’s Ambassador of the UK and Northern Ireland to Tajikistan, Robin Ord-Smith and the Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Rukhulo Hakimov.

Robin Ord-Smith said “I am delighted that the UK and Tajikistan are today commencing negotiations for a bilateral Double Taxation Agreement. This is an encouraging and important step that will clarify the tax burden for companies and will keep encouraging Trade and Investment flows between our two countries. I very much hope that it will be possible to reach agreement on the text swiftly. This is in the best interests of both the UK and Tajikistan.”
