Ambassador Hobss donates 30 boxes of rugby kit to the President of the Paraguayan Rugby Union

The British Embassy is delighted to receive UK charity SOS Kit Aid’s delivery of rugby kit to Paraguay. Ambassador Hobbs delivered the kit to the President of the Paraguayan Rugby Union (URP).

SOS Kit Aid has kindly donated 30 boxes of rugby equipment ranging from balls to tracksuits and boots which will be of considerable help to the URP, which looks to expand their work and promote rugby more widely in the country.

Thanks to John Broadfoot, founder of the charity, and his team in the UK, some of the less well off clubs across the country will be able to practise the sport. This donation coincides with the Rugby World Cup taking place in the UK.

The British Embassy is proud to be doing its part to encourage more Paraguayans, particularly youngsters, to try out the sport. The British Embassy will be supporting future events with the Paraguayan Rugby Union which will see local rugby teams play, female teams as well as youth teams in the interior of the country.
