UK closes Mombasa Consulate

Honorary Consulate office in Mombasa has been closed, normal consular assistance to British nationals continue through our Nairobi office

Following the changes made to our travel advice on Wednesday 14 May the decision has been made to close our Honorary Consulate office in Mombasa.

The UK has a responsibility to inform British citizens of the potential threats aimed at both Kenya and the international community. The FCO travel advice was recently amended to advise against all but essential travel to a specific area around Mombasa This change was driven solely by our objective assessment of the threat faced by British nationals living, working, or travelling in the region.

We shall be keeping the situation under close review. We will continue to provide consular assistance to British nationals through our Nairobi office. Details are as follows:
