UK Export Finance (UKEF), the UK’s export credit agency, today welcomed the announcement that the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) is to form an International Advisory Council. The Council will bring together a group of senior business leaders to advise the BCC on international trade, with a focus on the export potential available to UK businesses.

The BCC announcement came ahead of its International Trade Conference, Global Network, Global Opportunities, on Thursday 9 October, sponsored by UK Export Finance, Barclays, Cisco, DHL Express, EY, Heathrow Airport and Volvo, who will share their experience of exports and international markets.

David Godfrey, Chief Executive of UKEF and a guest speaker at the International Trade Conference, said:

We welcome the BCC’s newly formed International Advisory Council. Sharing the knowledge and experience of businesses that have already succeeded in international markets is a positive step that will strengthen the export agenda and we hope it will inform and inspire other UK exporters.
