UK Government’s aid-funded British business delegation visits Bangladesh
A British business delegation is visiting Bangladesh for three days to drive forward partnerships between the UK and Bangladesh for the growth and prosperity of both countries.
The visiting UK companies, experts in the field of development and humanitarian aid-work, will meet with a wide range of development partners, government officials, and non-government organisations. The delegation will engage with the parties to understand the scope of projects taking place and identify what opportunities are available for the supply of services and resources.
British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Ms Alison Blake said:
I am delighted a UK delegation from aid-funded business is visiting Bangladesh. The UK is the leading bilateral grant donor in Bangladesh and this visit provides excellent opportunities for UK businesses to share knowledge with partners and identify how best they can supply resources and services to the benefit of both our countries.
Mission leader Peter Lindsay said:
Of the almost 20 UK organisations represented, some already have business with Bangladesh, others are taking their first steps to entering this fascinating market. We will be meeting international donors, NGOs, key members of the Bangladesh business community and, of course, government bodies - so vital to the successful implementation of these aid-funded projects. There is a strong desire, from both sides, to further strengthen relations between our two countries, and this is the primary purpose of our trade mission.
