UK Increases Number of Chevening Scholars from Maldives
The UK has announced a significant increase in the number of Chevening Scholars from Maldives.
The UK has announced a significant increase in the number of Chevening Scholars from Maldives, the British High Commission announced at a reception to mark the departure of this year’s Chevening Scholars ahead of their travel to study at prestigious UK universities.
Chevening is the British Government’s most prestigious scholarship scheme for foreign post-graduate students. It aims to enable current and future leaders, decision makers and opinion formers to study in the UK and equip them to make a positive contribution to their own countries upon their return.
Congratulating this year’s Chevening scholars, the High Commissioner said: “I am delighted that we have a significant increase in the number of Chevening Scholarships we are able to offer to current and future leaders from Maldives. The opportunity for some of Maldives most talented students to study in the UK benefits both our countries. Education is key to increasing understanding and maintaining and developing the long-established bonds between us.”
