Ambassador Tom Fletcher launches UK-Lebanon Technology Hub

We will put Lebanon’s entrepreneurs on the map, in the heart of the region’s tech industry drawing on one of Lebanon’s most important sources of resilience, dynamism and hope. The real superpower, the Lebanese spirit.

The Tech Hub will offer UK expertise, experience and exposure to support the growth and development of Lebanon’s promising knowledge economy. A private sector initiative supported by the UK and Lebanese governments, the Tech Hub will be launched in January 2015.

This initiative brings together the UK’s technology sector, renowned for its innovation, with Lebanon’s new technology entrepreneurs. The Hub will accelerate the growth of Lebanese companies, and help develop the Tech Cluster by building the capacities of Lebanese investment professionals and entrepreneurs. This partnership will help position Lebanon at the heart of the region’s growing tech industry, creating jobs and stimulating the technology economy.

Ambassador Fletcher’s address came at the opening ceremony of Lebanon’s First International Startup Conference by Banque du Liban, in the presence of Governor Riad Salameh.
