UK MoD support to Serbian floods relief – donation of water pumps
Ambassador Keefe presented the Serbian Defence Ministry with 86 mobile water-pumps, aimed at supporting the Serbian Armed Forces flood relief efforts.
Denis Keefe, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Belgrade, presented the Serbian Defence Minister Bratislav Gašić with 86 mobile water-pumps. This UK Ministry of Defence donation is aimed at supporting the Serbian Armed Forces flood relief efforts and increasing their operational capacity and crisis resilience.
Ambassador Keefe reminded that the UK has expressed sincere solidarity following the disastrous floods in May, and that it has made the commitment to support Serbia through the tough crisis period.
“After the equipment that we provided for the Emergency Situations Centre of the Ministry of Interior, technical aid for the Serbian Red Cross, our active participation at the Donors Conference in Brussels, I am glad that we can also give our support to the Armed Forces of Serbia, with whom we have a traditionally good cooperation,“ Ambassador Keefe said.
Thanking for the donation, Defence Minister Gašić said that it is another example of traditionally good friendly relations between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Serbia.
