UK trade mission visits Ethiopia
UK Trade Mission led by Trade Envoy, Richard Benyon MP is in Ethiopia for three days from 10 to 12 May 2016.
A UK trade mission to Ethiopia arrived in Addis Ababa today for a three day visit from 10-12 May. The trade mission follows on the back of a successful UK-Ethiopia Trade and Investment Forum in London last year. The mission is led by Prime Minister David Cameron’s newly appointed Trade Envoy to Ethiopia, Richard Benyon, MP.
The aim of the mission is to boost trade relations between the UK and Ethiopia and for UK businesses to strengthen their knowledge of the many and growing commercial opportunities in Ethiopia.
Over the course of the three day mission, the Trade Envoy and delegates will be meeting Deputy Prime Minister Debretsion Gebremichael, and Ministers from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Water, Irrigation and Electricity.
They will also meet a number of Ethiopian and international businesses with the aim of building the foundations for future commercial activities.
Richard Benyon MP said:
“I am delighted to have been appointed UK Trade Envoy to Ethiopia. I am excited to be here and see firsthand the opportunities Ethiopia offers for UK businesses. I look forward to building a lasting trade relationship with Ethiopia that brings benefits to both our countries.”
