UK-Turkmenistan ceremonial signing of documents
Ahead of the historic visit, several documents were signed between the governments of the United Kingdom and Turkmenistan.
On 23 April, ahead of the historic visit to Turkmenistan by Lord Cameron, the UK’s Foreign Secretary, several documents were signed between the governments of the United Kingdom and Turkmenistan. These include:

a Cooperation Programme between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom of Great Britain to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries

a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the Blue Marine Foundation to protect biological diversity and environmental promoting their conservation in the Caspian Sea

a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Agency Turkmenaragatnashyk of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of the Ministers of Turkmenistan and the UK company Dialogue Events Ltd
Lord Cameron’s visit, the first by a UK Foreign Secretary to Turkmenistan, marked a historic milestone in the history of UK-Turkmen bilateral relations. The outcome of the visit will provide an opportunity for the UK to strengthen its partnership with Turkmenistan and support the country’s efforts in several key areas.
In particular, the UK is committed to working with Turkmenistan to tackle climate change, promote gender equality, and cooperation on education. We believe that by working together, we can make a positive impact on these critical issues and build a more sustainable and equitable future for both our nations.
