UK welcomes Garuda Indonesia’s new flight to London
British Embassy Jakarta and Garuda Indonesia celebrate the forthcoming launch of Garuda’s latest new route: Jakarta-London.
On 19 August 2014, British Embassy Jakarta and Garuda Indonesia will host an event to celebrate the forthcoming launch of Garuda’s latest new route: Jakarta-London. Garuda will fly five times a week, with the very first flight departing on 8th of September, bringing more businessmen and tourists for the mutual benefit of Indonesia and the UK.
The Acting British Ambassador Rebecca Razavi said:
We are delighted with the new Garuda flight to London. This exciting announcement will improve further our already close relationship, boost business and tourism for both countries and will better link our two great capital cities: Jakarta and London.
Britain and Indonesia share many values as democratic island nations populated by people from many different backgrounds and religions. We look forward to welcoming more Indonesians to see these similarities for themselves. We hope you enjoy our beautiful countryside, watch our football, study at our prestigious universities and delight in the hospitality of the British people.
Garuda President Director Emirsyah Satar said:
The opening of the new service will boost business activities between Indonesia and the United Kingdom, whilst offering seamless connectivity to and from two regions, even more destinations in Garuda’s global and regional network. This will include the Asia Pacific region, as the flight will also be connected to the airline’s service from Jakarta to Australia, namely Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth.
Garuda Indonesia will serve the Jakarta – Amsterdam – London (vv) flight with its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft capable of carrying 314 passengers, with a seating configuration of 8 seats in First Class, 38 seats in Business Class, and 268 seats in Economy Class. The fleet is equipped with “Inflight Connectivity” facilities, including “WiFi Onboard” and “Live TV” services for passengers in all classes and a “chef on board” for “First Class” passengers.
