UKIPO signs MoU with Ministry of Justice, Uzbekistan

New agreement to strengthen existing intellectual property systems.

The UK Intellectual Property Office and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop further bilateral cooperation in order to strengthen existing intellectual property systems.

Both sides recognise the significant role of intellectual property in improving the competitiveness of enterprises and countries, as well as in promoting economic and social development.

This MoU serves as a formal expression of the aforementioned intent and facilitates its realisation.

The agreement was signed by the UK Intellectual Property Office’s, Chief Executive Adam Williams and Deputy Minister of Justice for the Republic of Uzbekistan Muzraf Ikramov.

This Memorandum comes into effect from the date of its signing by both Participants and will remain in effect for the period of three years.
