Universal Credit now available in 70% of all jobcentres

More jobcentres across Britain now offer Universal Credit as 12 more offices take new claims from today.

This was published under the 2015 to 2016 Cameron Conservative government

Universal Credit is now available in 70% of all jobcentres across the country and from today all new single jobseekers can claim at the jobcentres below.

The new system is designed to ensure people will be better off in work than on welfare and means they can receive support from jobcentre staff both in and out of work.

Today, single jobseekers will be able to claim Universal Credit in:

  • Darlington
  • Killingworth
  • Whitley Bay
  • North Shields
  • Wallsend
  • Northampton
  • Matlock
  • Clay Cross
  • Staveley
  • Shirebrook
  • Bolsover
  • Watford
