UK Secretary of State, Dr Vince Cable attended the British Irish Chamber of Commerce Annual Conference on 24/25 January

25 January 2013

On his first visit to Ireland as Business Secretary, Dr Cable gave the opening keynote address at the inaugural annual conference of the British Irish Chamber of Commerce which was held in the impressive surroundings of the home of the Irish national rugby and football teams, the Aviva Stadium.

The conference, which attracted 300 attendees, was the first such event organised by the chamber since its inception two years ago. It bought together key political figures, stakeholders and industry leaders from both sides of the Irish Sea in the first significant business gathering in Ireland since the new year.

While visiting Dublin, Dr Cable also met Richard Bruton TD, Minster for Jobs Enterprise and Innovation and representatives from several Irish companies with large investments in the UK.
