The Secretary of State for Wales Alun Cairns and Wales Office Minister Guto Bebb will take part in services in Cardiff and London as part of Remembrance Day commemorations.
On Wednesday 9 November, Wales Office Minister Guto Bebb will attend a service at the Welsh National Field of Remembrance at Cardiff Castle, where he will read ‘The Exhortation’ in Welsh. On Remembrance Sunday 13 November, Alun Cairns will attend the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph on Whitehall in London.
Secretary of State for Wales, Alun Cairns said:
On Remembrance Sunday, we reflect upon the sacrifices made in conflicts across the world, we take this opportunity to mark the bravery and dedication of our servicemen and women. It is an honour and a privilege to represent the people of Wales at the Cenotaph.
My thoughts will be with the Welsh men and women who have pledged their lives to the service of our country, be it overseas or at home. We should pay tribute to the professionalism and commitment that the men and women of the military show on a daily basis while serving and protecting our nation.
Guto Bebb said:
It is important that we all take this opportunity to show our gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifices being made every day on our behalf by so many courageous men and women across the world.
We should pay tribute to all Service men and women, past and present, who have so admirably served this country. It is our duty to remember and honour the fallen and today provides us with that opportunity.
