Weights and Measures (Food) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 consultation: government response published.
The government response for this consultation has now been published.
The National Measurement Office (NMO) sought views on the draft Weights and Measures (Food) (Amendment) Regulations 2014, which will amend national pre-packed food quantity labelling legislation in accordance with EU Regulation on food information to consumers (1169/2011) (FIC).
The draft Statutory Instrument will remove overlapping or conflicting national requirements which are directly applicable under FIC which take effect on 13 December 2014.
A total of 10 responses were received. As a result of the responses and further discussions with stakeholders some minor changes have been made to the draft Regulations and to the Guidance to aid clarity and consistency.
This consultation closed on 20 October 2014.
